How to grant OP permissions on a Minecraft Bedrock server

Last updated on Jul 24, 2024

OP (Operator) permissions on a Minecraft Bedrock server refer to the administrative privileges granted to players in the game. These permissions allow individuals to execute specific commands and control various aspects of the game, such as teleportation, item spawning, and changing game rules. Server administrators should exercise caution when assigning OP permissions, as these can significantly impact the gameplay experience and balance. Balancing the use of OP permissions is essential to ensure fair and enjoyable gameplay for all participants on the Minecraft Bedrock server.

Note: The Xbox Live Gamertag is needed to give a player OP permissions. They must also be online on the server.

Note: Some commands will need cheats enabled on the Bedrock server. Learn how to enable cheats here.
