How to allow players to connect from any version on a Minecraft server

Last updated on Jul 30, 2024

ViaVersion is a plugin for Minecraft that allows players to connect to servers using different game versions, bridging compatibility gaps between newer and older releases. Since its introduction, it has facilitated multiplayer experiences by enabling players with distinct client versions to interact seamlessly. The plugin ensures that Minecraft enthusiasts can join servers of their choice without being restricted by different versions.

Note: ViaVersion requires Spigot/Paper or Bukkit servers. It can also be installed on Fabric-Cardboard Servers.

Note: Players connecting to servers with outdated clients may experience missing content from newer versions.
